Every year, Fondation Sana, Helsana's main shareholder, honours one or more individuals for their outstanding social commitment. This Saturday, the prizewinners received their awards at the Swiss Paraplegic Centre in Nottwil: Christiana Colliard from Niederwangen, Yvonne Mettauer from Niederbipp and Heinz Keller from Oftringen.
Christiana Colliard created the Wolf residential group, which offers traumatised children and young people security and a new home. For Christiana Colliard, caring for needy children has become a source of inspiration and a vocation. "I could never turn away a child in need," says Christiana (53). Heinz Keller from Oftringen has been coaching the FC Traktor azb Strengelbach team, where all players have a disability, for nearly 30 years. Most of the players live and work in the foundation where Heinz Keller works as caretaker. Heinz (62) feels passionately about attending training and tournaments with the team. Yvonne Staubli-Mettauer lives in Niederbipp and is a co-founder of Swiss Help Dogs. The association was created in order to champion the interests of people with assistance dogs. As a volunteer, Yvonne (43) is chair of the association and is pretty much always on call. The association has now become the national contact point for assistance dog owners and coordinates interactions between trainers and breeders.
