The Board of Directors of the Helsana Group has appointed Sandro Mannino (44) as a new member of the Executive Board. In this capacity, he will be responsible for the newly created business division “Clients & Market”. Pascal Harder will continue to head up the business division on an interim basis until Sandro Mannino begins on 1 August 2021.
The two business divisions, “Marketing & Sales” and “Client Services & Benefits”, are to be partially realigned to meet changing customer needs, as well as changing conditions within the industry. The new “Product & Services” business division brings together insurance technology and services. This will make Helsana’s products and services even more customer-oriented and respondent to demand, and strengthen our value proposition. This division will be headed by current Executive Board member Rudolf Bruder, who previously led the “Client Services & Benefits” division.
The second new division “Clients & Market” brings the customer attraction and retention activities of the Helsana Group under one roof. “This division will offer our customers an integrated, positive experience with Helsana,” explains CEO Roman Sonderegger. The new division will be the first point of contact for insurance enquiries.
CEO Sonderegger is also pleased with the appointment: “For this core function at management level, we were lucky enough to gain an extremely experienced manager, Sandro Mannino, who comes with an impressive track record. I look forward to working with him.”
Sandro Mannino comes to Helsana from Optimatis, the Comparis partner service, where he has been the CEO for the last three years. He was responsible for the online platform comparis.ch and the entire “Insurances” division. Between 1999 and 2012, he held a range of management positions with CSS Versicherung. Born in Aargau with Italian roots, he has an Executive MBA in General Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich (HWZ), and he’s married with two children.
Due to the refocusing of the «Health» business division, Dr Claudine Blaser Egger (50) has decided to pursue a new challenge outside Helsana. She will leave the company on 31 May 2021. The process of securing a new head for the “Health” business division is already initiated.
The Helsana Group created the “Health” business division as part of the 2020+ corporate strategy. “Claudine Blaser Egger built up this new division with great commitment, creating a solid foundation for its further development,” says CEO Roman Sonderegger. “We are sorry to see Claudine Blaser Egger go and wish her all the best for the future.”
The issue of health remains a key focus in the strategy of the Helsana Group. Roman Sonderegger stresses that “this business division is focused on differentiating Helsana in the market.” Until a definitive successor to Dr Claudine Blaser Egger is found, Ralf Molitor will serve as interim head of the “Health” business division and sit on the Executive Board. He is currently responsible for the corporate development of the Helsana Group and is the interim operational head of HealthInvest AG (HIAG).
