Helsana is voluntarily reducing its reserves by CHF 76 million in 2022. This means those insured with Helsana will benefit from monthly deductions on the new basic insurance premium.

In 2021, the Federal Council simplified the requirements for insurers to voluntarily reduce their reserves. Helsana welcomes this greater freedom and therefore applied to the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) to reduce its reserves.
Thanks to the authorisation granted by the FOPH in September, we can now guarantee all our customers a reduction on the new basic insurance premium from 1 January 2022. This amounts to CHF 5 for adults, CHF 3.50 for young people (up to the age of 25) and CHF 1.50 for children (up to the age of 18).
In total, the reserve reduction for 2022 will amount to around CHF 76 million.
