Important product change

Important notices regarding a change to the insurance product. New conditions apply when taking out BeneFit PLUS Flexmed:

New procedure for medical consultations

Before you consult your chosen GP or telemedicine provider in the event of new acute complaints, you should first use the Compassana app’s digital symptom checker. This will be available from 2025. The medically certified app provides an initial assessment of your health problem using AI technology and recommends a course of action. You are never tied to the resulting treatment plan, and you are free to contact your chosen Flexmed GP or group practice, or consult Medi24. Use of the symptom checker is only mandatory for adults. Children under the age of 18 may not use the symptom checker.

  • Illness or accident
  • Use the symptom checker
  • General practitioner or Telemedicine Centre
  • Further treatment

Emergencies
In an emergency, always proceed directly to an emergency doctor or a hospital. Following the treatment, inform your chosen Flexmed GP, group practice or Medi-24 immediately.

Benefits

  • A fast and straightforward initial assessment using the AI-based, medically recognised symptom checker.
  • All of your health documents in one place in the Compassana app, which you can share with your trusted medical personnel.
  • Choice of two points of contact and planning for your course of treatment. The general practitioner and group practices you can choose from can be found in the premium calculator.
  • Medical support around the clock.

What is Compassana?

The Compassana app is a digital service for your health-related matters. The app lets you access your documents, such as medical reports, laboratory results and prescriptions, at any time – for example, for specialist appointments, hospital admissions or when changing doctors. Your data is always secure, and you can share it only with trusted medical personnel.

New procedure for medical consultations

Registering with Compassana is very simple. You can even do it right now.

  1. Download the myHelsana app and register with myHelsana.
  2. Then, download the Compassana app.
  3. Sign in to the Compassana app using your myHelsana login details.

From 2025, please follow these steps:

  • Activate data sharing (data relating to insurance cover and medication), and you will be connected to Compassana.
  • All you then have to do is link the app to your basic insurance model in “Activate insurance guide” and your points of contact will be displayed.

We will write to all Flexmed policyholders to inform them about this process again when the symptom checker goes live in 2025. Until then, you can follow the steps described on the product page.

FAQs

You need to download both the myHelsana and the Compassana apps, register, and while registering in the Compassana app, agree to the sharing of personal data as well as data regarding contracts and medications. Under “Activate insurance guide”, you also need to link the Compassana app to your basic insurance model so that your point(s) of contact will be displayed based on your insurance model. If you experience new, acute complaints, you must use the Compassana app’s symptom checker before consulting your general practitioner or group practice. If you would then like to receive medical assistance, you must consult your chosen Flexmed GP or group practice (or Medi24).

Compassana connects you with service providers in the field of medicine and related sectors, and promotes collaboration using a digital health platform. The platform optimises integrated care delivered by health service providers and the coordination of patient pathways. In real terms, this means a better quality of treatment. When providing advice, for example, the advisors at Medi24 can access a customer’s medication data (provided they have given their consent to this). The medication data is based on the customer’s Helsana statements.
Compassana is a joint project of Medbase, Hirslanden, Groupe Mutuel, Helsana, SWICA, Luzerner Kantonsspitäler and Trifork. Under the umbrella of Bluespace Ventures AG, they ensure the organisation and systematic development of Compassana as shareholders.
